Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre
Vancouver Coast and Mountains

Serving as the international broadcast centre for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the expanded Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre brings British Columbia into the big leagues of world convention facilities.
This award-winning, world class convention centre will more than triple in size when the expansion opens in spring 2009. The larger convention facility has already attracted more and larger events and the economic benefits that come with them. The expansion is built on some 1,000 piles in and on the shore of Burrard Inlet, creating a marine habitat for dozens of species. Along with a living roof and other sustainable features, the VCEC is one of the “greenest” convention centres in the world.
The project new VCEC will dramatically increase the number of delegate days hosted by the centre each year, boosting the economy of the region and the entire province. About a third of delegates attending conventions at the centre are expected to also travel to other parts of the province during their visit, and 40 per cent are expected to make a return visit to B.C. within a year.
