Royal Oak Middle School

When a new Royal Oak Middle school was needed, the first priority was to build a school that would meet the needs of students in Saanich for many years to come. And to do that right, it was essential that the new school be environmentally sustainable.
The result is a beautiful new school facility, built to LEED environmental standards, with efficient heating and air conditioning systems that automatically adjust the light and heat in each classroom according to how many people are in the room and how much natural light is available.
In addition to being a healthy and energy efficient facility, the new Royal Oak Middle school also benefits from a partnership with Saanich, which invested in enhancements to the school so it can be used by the community in the evenings, as well as offering improved gym, drama room and shop facilities for students.
The result is a great new school facility that’s environmentally sustainable and a big part of its local community.
