Quesnel Four Corners Square Revitalization

Cariboo

People in the Cariboo have a long history of firsts in the province, and that’s no surprise when you consider the ambitious pioneer spirit that built the region.

In Quesnel, there’s a tangible demonstration of that sort of leadership - the revitalization of Four Corners Square as British Columbia’s very first B.C. Spirit Square.

Already long established as a community meeting place, Four Corners Square was a perfect candidate for funding under the B.C. Spirit Square program, as the local community had big ideas for upgrades to the square. Once funding came through from the Province in 2007, and the local Rotary Club came forward with additional support, the upgrade was underway.

Today, the upgraded square is complete, with a new roof over the square’s stage and a clock tower to highlight the square. The result? An even better place for the community to gather, to celebrate British Columbia’s 150th anniversary, and to showcase the community’s strengths and achievements in the future.
