North Creek Pedestrian/Cycle Bridge – Surrey

Vancouver Coast and Mountains

Connecting major pedestrian and cycle routes is vital to encouraging people to adopt healthier lifestyles, and that’s what’s been accomplished in Surrey, with the assistance of the B.C. Government’s LocalMotion program.

The program helps communities improve local infrastructure to encourage people to get out of their cars for transportation and recreation. That’s what a pedestrian/cycle bridge at 180th Street in Surrey is accomplishing. The bridge spans North Creek, linking the Cloverdale Greenway to the Clayton Greenway, as well as connecting the Provincetown area and a new school.

LocalMotion assisted the project with $450,000 in funding, as part of its four-year, $40 million commitment to build bike paths, walkways and greenways, encouraging healthier communities that are more seniors-friendly and disabilities-friendly.
