McBride Community Hall
Northern

Smaller communities often need to be creative to make sure they’ve got the facilities and services local residents need. In McBride, the creation of an Emergency Operations Centre within the village’s new community hall, is an example of this ingenuity.
Assisted by $400,000 from the Province’s Towns for Tomorrow small community infrastructure program, McBride has added emergency shelter, food services and a community gathering place to the new community hall, equipping it to meet the needs of residents from Dunster to Dome Creek in the event of an emergency.
The funding allowed for electrical and telecommunications work, interior construction and installation of equipment and furniture necessary to make the Emergency Operations Centre a reality.
The result is a small community better equipped to serve its residents.
