Bike Lane for Six Mile Bridge

Vancouver Island

Making it easier – and safer – for people to choose cycling as a transportation and recreation option is a big part of what the B.C. Government’s LocalMotion program is all about. It’s a program designed to accelerate the development of capital projects that make communities greener, healthier and more active.

In View Royal, near Victoria, more than $218,000 in LocalMotion funding was provided to allow View Royal to add a cycling lane to improve the Six Mile Bridge.

In addition to bike lanes, LocalMotion funds improvements like trails and walkways, community playgrounds and improved accessibility for seniors and people with disabilities. It’s all intended to get people out of their cars and moving.
