Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre
Vancouver Coast and Mountains

Opened for patients in August 2008, the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre is delivering quality health care closer to home for 330,000 British Columbians living in the eastern Fraser Valley.
The single largest health care capital investment in B.C.’s history, the 300-bed facility is the province’s first new regional hospital in more than 30 years, replacing Abbotsford’s aging MSA Hospital.
This new facility responds to the vibrant growth and promising future of the Fraser Valley, and marks the first time in B.C. that a cancer centre has been fully integrated with an acute care hospital from the ground up.
Three times the size of the old MSA Hospital, it was built in consultation with more than 240 health care professionals who worked with the project team to develop the facilities plans. And its flexible design allows for future expansion.
Built as a public private partnership, local talent and global expertise came together to design, build, finance and maintain this $335 million facility. Completed on time and on budget, Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre is now enhancing health care and quality of life in the eastern Fraser Valley.
